So Nintendo decided to have some announcements….

As the title says Nintendo did some releasing.. And boy oh boy did they do so, which I’m not all to happy about. So be prepared for some ranting and hollerin about these releases.

So first off they announced this beauty!

image

Yes that’s a US limited edition of Hyrule Warriors and I for one was about as excited as a school girl to see this being released here until…. Oh yea it’s only available in New York at the Nintendo Store!!! I guess Nintendo forgot that the US has about 49 other states. In my opinion I really don’t understand their marketing strategy or did they not think anyone would want this or are they trying to cause some collectors craze but they were not thinking clearly with this one. Does Nintendo not realize how big the market for anything Legend of Zelda is here? Does Nintendo not like having money thrown at them? I for one wanted to run around with a blue scarf on destroying pots and I also remember them doing this same move when Mario Kart 8 was released and it didn’t bug me to much, but it would of been nice to give everyone an opportunity to enjoy it.

Now Nintendo is always awesome at releasing such amazing beautiful looking limited editions that rarely make it stateside and it really grinds my shit to see that we barely get anything good or appealing enough to make me want to shell out $200 dollars without a doubt. But today Nintendo/Gamestop did something that really shows me that they are dropping the ball (which I’m not surprised at all with anything Gamestop announces). They went and announced four (4) yes FOUR new limited edition 3DS’s that are coming here to America! Once again upon announcement I went and peed myself over the excitement only to be greatly disappointed.

Now I know what you’re all thinking and yes omg these are amazing and I can’t wait to get one of them. But stop for one second and think about it, Nintendo just announced not even a month ago a brand NEW NEWER NEWEST 3DS with all this fancy hardware and what not and this is what we’re getting… Nintendo’s left over systems. Everyone seems to be excited about the new designs and whatever, but to me I’m not impressed at all and I’m going to do a break down of each so you all won’t think I’m crazy or hating on them for no reason.

Let’s start with the NES edition 3DS. First off I have to say the only thing nice about this is the box and that’s about it. The system itself is a very lazy attempt to make a design for something that has already been done beautifully on the Nintendo SP and Gameboy Micro. All they had to do was put the console design on top and put the controller scheme on the inside and bam you’re DONE! I don’t know how you can drop the ball on something already done before. In my humble opinion I believe they should of put more effort into this exclusive and given the customer something more like make this the new NEW 3DS or add some free downloadable nes games or maybe do the dam scheme right!

Second on this list! The Persona Q edition. Now I won’t lie but this is a nice design sporting the iconic Velvet Room Grimoire styling but yet again it’s in old hardware and does not include the game… How is anyone going to be thrilled enough to go and buy this to know they’re not getting a game that the dam system is based on and to top it off it’s just the old hardware. So you’re paying a whooping $200 for a design and a box and nothing else that is appealing like maybe a art book or the stuff the limited edition game is coming with. Thank you but I will pass.

Now for the Third and final on the list of exclusives! The wonderful and highly anticipated Super Smash Bros 3DS. First off I have to say that these are pointless in releasing and once again you’ll be dishing out $200 for a box and a design that’s in old hardware when Japan is releasing a better version that looks great and doesn’t include the dam name of the game on the system and is in none other then what I have been saying over and over the NEW HARDWARE!!! Second, It does not include the game at all, How do you expect to make new owners to want to buy this system when won’t even bother to include a copy of the game everyone is going ape shit over? Third, why do they insist on putting the name of the game on the system when you know what you bought and you don’t need the rest of your friends and the world to know that you’re playing on a super smash bros 3ds. I’m glad they took that out on the new NEW 3ds version in Japan but didn’t bother do that here. It’s very unappealing and looks like a marketing tool in my opinion. The rest of the design is perfect with the line up but come on just put the dam smash logo on it and call it a day. And last but not least, It’ll have NO Amibo support in it, so that means you’ll have to go out and buy the amibo connector. So, so much for your exclusive Super Smash 3DS baby!

In conclusion I don’t normally complain about stuff Nintendo brings out because I’m a huge fan of the big “N” ever since the good old grey blinky red light blow in the cartridge gaming system. I just feel these four new exclusives are not needed and would be more exciting to see IF the New 3ds wasn’t supposedly coming out next year or maybe these were released let’s say a year or two ago. It doesn’t help new buyers or even existing ones who know that a new version is being released. Especially since they aren’t even giving you any incentive to go out and buy what I consider “old hardware”. No game, no exclusive content or even a Mario themed plastic toy. In my eyes all I see is an excuse to quiet the US market with flashy limited editions because we aren’t getting the New 3ds till next year. Will I buy any of these… No. I see these more for the hardcore fan/collector or the kid that doesn’t give a shit or know about the new 3ds. This of course is all my opinion, so you can take it as you wish because all in all it’s your decision what you do with your hard earned $200 dollars.

Remember I love you all and keep on gaming! Don’t forgot to follow my page as well!

New 3ds! I cannot contain my boner!!

So I was fortunate enough to wake up to this grand news! After watching the Japanese Nintendo direct they’re going to be releasing a newer model 3ds with new upgraded features including:

  • A faster CPU
  • Better Wifi for faster downloads.
  • Two more shoulder buttons have been added. ZR and ZL.
  • A nifty little “C” stick that was inspired from the Gamecube controller.
  • A tad bit larger screen.
  • The game slot, head phones and stylus have all been moved to the bottom.
  • It will have Amibo support built in!
  • They’re dropping the standard SD card for a micro SD card.
  • The standard 3DS will have options to customize the body with interchangeable face plates.
  • Improved 3D function letting you see the 3D from the sides instead of having to look straight into it.
  • PC support letting you transfer music and photos.
  • Standard model price is priced at $160 while the XL version is priced at $188
  • Standard models will come in Black and White but will have the ability to change out the face plates.
  • XL models come in Metallic Blue and Metallic Black.

All in all the new upgrades to a already amazing system are awesome and very welcomed in my opinion. I really like the fact that it has a better CPU allowing for more options for better games and also leaves open a possibility for SNES and N64 games in the virtual console (crossing fingers and toes)! I can’t wait to try out the new buttons and C stick to see how they react and feel. My only gripe about the new system is that they should of made both systems capable to swap out face plates and customize as you please and they should of made the XL in white as well with the SNES button scheme. It’s not stated when it comes out in the states but hopefully in time for Smash and hopefully with a limited edition version that isn’t just for Japan or UK. But for now we’ll just have to wait and see!

Finally got my nendoroid Ryuko Matoi and it looks amazing!

iamemir said: Ugh, that's so awesome. I've always wanted to do pixel paintings but I'm a horrible painter and that sounds incredibly time-consuming. Sometime you should make a process video to show how its done! If I was at that con, I'd be so so SO SO SOOOOOOOOOOOO tempted to buy the Kirby, Ninja Gaiden and Link's Awakening ones. How much do you charge?

Thank you, thank you for the compliments! But it really does require a lot of time and patience for each piece. I recommend if you want to get into it is to start small with single sprites and slowly move your way up. Get the technique down by drawing grids and painting straight lines. Those pieces actually sold but they ranged from 250 to 350 in price.
